Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Project Estimation: Conduct thorough assessments of potential projects, analyzing costs of materials, labor, and time required to complete each project to client specifications.
  • Visit job sites: Analyze the needs of the client, review drawings, pull measurements, create takeoffs for vendors, and understand specs.
  • Computer skills: Build quotes from designs and prints, utilize CAD experience, and work with cost estimation software.
  • Review vendors lists: Build quotes, manage inbound GC requested bids, and work remotely or ideally locally to the main office.
  • Materials, shop team estimating, labor, logistics, and staging for shipping: Coordinate all aspects of project management.
  • Budget Management: Develop comprehensive budgets that align with project goals and client expectations, ensuring costeffective solutions without compromising on quality.
  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to create detailed project plans that efficiently integrate theatrical systems into various performance venues.
  • Risk Analysis: Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Client Proposals: Prepare clear and persuasive proposals that effectively communicate project details, costs, and timelines to clients.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all project plans meet industry standards and safety regulations, working with professional engineers and riggers to inspect and approve the integrity of each venue.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, with a strong background in project management within the theatrical equipment, TV/film, or construction industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Theatre, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, preferred.
  • Expertise in cost estimation software and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of managing client expectations and building relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining focus and organization.
  • Sales experience preferred: Ability to set projects for success and manage client relationships effectively.
