    About Disco

    Disco is building a collaborative commerce platform that enables brands to partner effectively, acquire customers efficiently, and scale faster. We help premium DTC companies like The Honest Company, True Classic, Lovevery, Sol de Janeiro, and Caraway work together to accelerate growth in a cost-efficient manner, especially in light of regulatory and platform changes (e.g., cookie deprecation, iOS changes). Our ecosystem of independent ecommerce brands utilize Disco to #GrowTogether outside of traditional marketing channels (e.g. Facebook and Google), while also benefiting from unique insights and information content that Disco offers its brands.

    We've raised $26 million in funding from established investors (Felicis Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Shopify, Sugar Capital, RiverPark Ventures, and Indicator Ventures), to help merchants reduce their reliance on big tech platforms like Amazon and Facebook for customer acquisition and distribution. Since 2021, we have expanded our network to 1000+ brands, serving product recommendations to 90M+ shoppers & supporting $30B in e-commerce transactions.

    What we are looking for

    Disco is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead multiple teams of engineers. We build customer-facing experiences tailored to help ecommerce shoppers find the products they are interested in online, along with powerful tools for brands to empower growth, scale, and stability within ecommerce. As a Senior Engineering Manager at Disco Technology, you will play a critical role in up-leveling our product for the next stage of growth and work as part of a world-class, multi-disciplinary team to work on the core technology that powers Disco's recommendations and full product suite.

    What you will do

    • Lead and grow multiple teams of high impact engineers focused on building compelling products that enable our brands to learn about their shoppers, grow their reach, and sell their products effectively across multiple channels
    • Collaborate across functional areas to define and prioritize technical solutions that support business needs, efficiencies, and revenue
    • Partner with Product Management to provide a strong technical strategy that helps set and shape the product strategy
    • Accelerate product adoption by building for today and planning for tomorrow
    • Partner with Product Management to set OKRs as well as prioritize, scope, and plan business outcomes
    • Communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders as well as communicate business objectives to the technical team
    • Ensure timely delivery of engineering solutions to meet business needs while providing a transparent view to progress
    • Coach and develop engineering team leads and individual contributors
    • Champion technical innovation and lead the creation, continual refinement, and active enforcement of our development standards to ensure that our technology enables a sustainable competitive advantage
    • Build an organization that is staffed for success, and has appropriately high technical competence that strives for excellence
    • Research new approaches and technologies to stay abreast of industry trends and standards

    What you have

    • 8+ years software engineering experience building enterprise SaaS products
    • 4+ years building and managing software engineering or data engineering teams
    • Undergraduate Computer Science degree or a degree highly related technical major
    • Experience working cross-functionally with Product Management, Data Science, and Business partners
    • Strong understanding of technical architecture, system design, and problem solving acuity for sophisticated technical challenges
    • Experience architecting, building and deploying scalable systems into cloud using tools like AWS EBS, Lambda, and S3
    • Experience working with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and familiarity with infrastructure as code principles

    Salary Range: $175k - $225K
