We are currently seeking a student assistant (m/f/d) for our office at the International Graduate School of Science and Engineering (IGSSE) at the TUM Garching-Forschungszentrum location in East Syracuse, NY.


The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is committed to the academic education of young professionals in the fields of natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medicine, and economics and social sciences.

As an interdisciplinary graduate center, the IGSSE promotes the scientific qualification and personal development of our doctoral candidates according to the highest international standards.

The focus is on interdisciplinary training and international networking of doctoral candidates across the boundaries of traditional scientific disciplines.

You will support our IGSSE office in all matters of external and internal communication.


Your tasks will include:


  • Support in designing and updating the IGSSE website
  • Writing newsletters and maintaining distribution lists
  • Conceptualization and editing of website news and social media posts
  • Support in disseminating IGSSE project announcements
  • Targeted communication of our course and event offerings
  • Support in designing PowerPoint presentations
  • Media editing and maintenance of our photo database
  • Assistance in organizing and conducting events

What we are looking for:


  • Creativity and enjoyment of conceptual and communicative tasks
  • Quick comprehension and independent, reliable work style
  • Excellent German and very good English skills in spoken and written form
  • Intercultural sensitivity and enjoyment of working with doctoral candidates from different cultures
