    Position Details:

    The Business Process Management Lead serves as a member of the Business Transformation team within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. The role will support the transformation of our current financial and business operations by enabling the implementation of new processes and platforms through detailed assessment and optimization of future processes, tools, and ways of working. The Business Process Management Lead is a key contributor in the analysis of enterprise-wide business needs as well as in the development and implementation of processes, programs, technology, and procedures to address them. Assigned projects will have a high level of complexity involving multiple departments, stakeholders, and systems and will require in-depth knowledge of NEA systems, policies, and operations. This role will serve in a lead capacity coordinating and overseeing the work of contract employees or junior business analysts. This role may require approximately 10-15% in domestic travel annually.

    Job Description:

    Conduct thorough assessments of existing financial and business operations, employing analytical tools and methodologies to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.

    Lead and facilitate requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and interviews with stakeholders to capture business needs accurately and translate the requirements into scope documentation, functional design specifications, user stories, use cases, and business process flows while ensuring alignment with project goals.

    Facilitate alignment across NEA Centers/functions, document rules, decisions, and actions by negotiating resolutions to business process and functional issues with key stakeholders.

    Implement and support ERP system for state affiliates and NEA Headquarters through design, configuration, testing, data conversion, and go-live support.

    Understand the business drivers and strategic goals of business owners and tailor implementation approaches to meet those needs.

    Establish and maintain advisory relationships with state affiliates throughout ERP implementation and launch.

    Maintain and update technical and non-technical project documentation - business process flows, NEA policies, User Guides, and presentation materials using established tools/templates.

    Analyze and model processes, data flows and business rules utilizing business process management framework and methodology.Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, communicating project progress, risks, and recommendations clearly and concisely.

    Analyze complex business processes, identify automation opportunities, and reengineer processes to improve automation potential. Perform data mapping and define all the aspects of integration between platforms.

    Lead User Acceptance Testing sessions and ensure successful operations handoff for launched features. Work with testers to validate system functionality and ensure developed functionality conforms to specification.

    A successful candidate can work with a high level of independence and initiative while being able to adjust daily workloads to shift for competing business priorities and to be able to finish assignments without undue supervision.

    Required Experience:

    Bachelor's Degree required with 8-10 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, and/or design of information systems programs and related business processes.

    3+ years' experience in project management including process re-engineering/improvement projects, leading workshops for initiatives across process areas and functions using the waterfall development lifecycle approach.

    Strong understanding of ERP and financial software platforms with a basic knowledge of accounting concepts and financial data analysis.

    Experience with Smartsheet (or similar tool), including Design blueprints through Control Center, DevelopDynamic views, Pivot Tables, and Dashboarding.

    A Self-Starter - Adapts to technology and business changes, takes initiative to learn new technologies and business processes, and shares skills gained with team members.

    An ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical users. Must be comfortable presenting in front of diverse audiences. Possess a high energy level, a strong sense of urgency, creativity, decisiveness, and the ability to work hard and to operate under pressure in ambiguous environments.

    One or more of the following certifications or their industry equivalents: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA).
