    Job Description

    Job includes income tax preparation, accounting, business management, bookkeeping, and more, for individuals and businesses.

    Work may include entering information or organizing information for entry into tax software, and entering information into QuickBooks, talking with or video conferencing with clients to gather information or to complete or review tax returns.

    We use Lacerte, QuickBooks, and CFS as well as other software, such as Word and Excel. Of course, we will provide training.

    We are looking for a caring and eager accountant who either is or would like to become a CPA or enrolled agent or would like to have those skills.

    Our wonderful clients, whom we treat like family, rely on our firm to provide them with a wide range of services, including tax, business management and related services, estate planning, and more.

    Company Description The firm is Hornstein Law Offices / Hornstein Financial, in Woodland Hills, CA. Steve Hornstein, the owner of the firm is an estate planning attorney, CPA, and Certified Financial PlannerTM Professional. We have two CPAs, two attorneys, two financial advisors, and two paralegals. The other CPA is also a financial advisor. The firm assists our clients in the areas of estate planning, tax and accounting, and as financial advisors. The job opening is for the tax and accounting area.


    Just for general information, in the law part of our practice, we handle most aspects of estate planning such as preparing complete estate plans (Trusts, Wills, etc...), handling trust and estate administration, representing clients in court for proceedings such as probates, conservatorships, guardianships, and litigation.

    Our office has a team approach to working with our clients.

    Generally, two or more staff will work on each client and we work together to seek the highest quality work for our clients.

    We seek to treat our clients as if they are family.

    We care about our clients, and our clients know this, so many of our clients treat our staff as family.

    When our clients have a life event, we are often the first call they make. We don't take that for granted.


    Recently, the tax and accounting areas of our office has grown significantly such that we are looking for a caring and eager accountant to help us to take care of our clients in the tax and accounting areas, where we assist our clients with income tax preparation, tax planning, business management, bookkeeping, payroll, and more, for individuals and businesses.


    Competitive Compensation:

    Compensation is competitive with other firms and will range depending on factors such as capabilities, knowledge, and experience; capabilities may be given more weight because knowledge and experience will come naturally in time.
