Job Duties and Responsibilities:


Our Specimen Technician position in the Receiving Department is an excellent entry to gaining experience working in a production laboratory environment, particularly in the area of forensic toxicology.

The Specimen Technician will be trained in performing routine laboratory duties and specifically, preparation of specimens including blood, urine, hair, fingernails, and other tissues to meet daily timelines in a team-oriented environment.

Duties and responsibilities include the preparation and aliquoting of samples for entry into the testing processes.

The Specimen Technician position is an essential and integral role in the delivery of expedient and accurate results to our customers and opportunities for continued learning and growth in the position and USDTL are available.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in science, or two years' laboratory experience plus a high school diploma or equivalency (proof of education required upon hire)
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fastpaced environment
  • Timeliness and reliability
  • Focus and commitment to performing work to a high standard with daily goals
  • Availability to work overtime
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferences:


  • Computer familiarity
  • Science courses or experience in a sciencerelated field (2+ years' lab experience highly preferred)

Special Position Requirements:

Lab positions involve handling of biohazardous materials and hazardous chemicals.

Work Schedule:

Sunday, Wednesday through Friday 3:00pm to 1:30 am
