Job Description:
Research Associate in Energy Economics at Boise City, OK

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research in the energy sector, with a focus on the tricity sector, crosssectoral effects of energy pricing, or development of international hydrogen markets. The broader research group aims to understand how market design affects investment incentives in supply capacity, storage, and network infrastructure in the energy sector.


The research group offers a dynamic research environment, financial support for attending conferences, and intensive supervision within a large and interactive team.

Salary will be based on the German pay scale (100% / TV-L E13). The initial appointment is for a period of two years with the possibility of extension.


Required Qualifications:
Applicants should have a qualified degree in industrial engineering, economics, mathematics, operations research, or a closely related discipline with a strong understanding of microeconomics (e.g. applied game theory and industrial economics) and mathematical modelling. The ideal candidate will have experience in theoretical or empirical research and a strong quantitative background. Proficiency in both oral and written English and a good command of German are required.
