    Provides dynamic leadership under the direction of the principal in the school by creating educational options which lead to academic growth and achievement for all students through a thorough knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment, supervision and evaluation, staff professional learning, community engagement, and positive school culture; implements a student-focused vision and collaborative leadership style to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students.

    Establishes and effectively manages systems that ensure high-quality staff

    Facilitates the design and use of a variety of communication strategies with all stakeholders
    Demonstrates inclusive leadership practices that foster a positive school culture and promote safety and equity for all students, staff, and community

    Manages student discipline in a consistent manner and provides follow-up information to staff and parents/guardians
    Plans and coordinates transportation needs with the Transportation Department
    Plans for and oversees various assessment processes as directed

    Reports to the principal regarding the needs of the school/program with respect to curriculum, instruction, assessment, staff, budget/resources, facilities, etc.

    Stays current with educational trends, research, and best practices
    Supervises and evaluates curricular and extracurricular activities and programs as assigned by the principal
    Takes responsibility for ensuring that all students are progressing toward post-secondary and workforce readiness standards to be mastered by high school graduation; prepares students for success by ensuring mastery of all Colorado Academic Standards, including 21st Century skills
    Takes responsibility for facilitating the preparation of students with the skills, dispositions and attitudes necessary for success in work and post-secondary education, including democratic and civic participation
    Uses evidence and data to evaluate the performance and practices of the school, in order to continually improve attainment of Student Academic Growth; takes responsibility and devises an intentional plan for ensuring that staff is knowledgeable in how to utilize evidence and data to inform instructional decision making to maximize the educational opportunities and instructional program for every child

    The job is very active and regularly requires periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing while on duty.

    While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk and hear.

    Typical demands require staff to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, and may be higher for some assignments depending on position and student need; climb stairs, ladders, and/or stools; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; use fingers to operate computer keyboards; feel the shape, size and temperature of objects; and physically restrain students when necessary.

    The incumbent frequently is required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and to reach with hands and arms.

    The position requires the ability to speak and to be understood, to use normal or aided vision and hearing, and to detect odors.

    Required Qualifications:
    3-5 Years Licensed School Site Experience
    Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.)

    Principal License:
    Initial - Colorado Department of Education
    Meets eligibility requirements by June 1st.

    If currently enrolled, and not yet complete with licensure program, please include a letter from college/university stating completion of program by June 1st.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    3-5 Years of School Administrative Experience
    Master's degree (e.g. M.A., M.S., M.Eng, M.Ed, M.S.W., M.B.A., M.L.S)
