    Collaboratively develops the vision, mission, and strategic plan, based on a cycle of continuous improvement of student outcomes, and facilitate their integration into the school community

    Collaborates with staff and stakeholders to implement strategies for change to improve student outcomes

    Demonstrates organizational leadership by strategically developing a vision and mission, leading change, enhancing the capacity of personnel, distributing resources, and aligning systems of communication for continuous school improvement

    Establishes and effectively manages systems that ensure high-quality staff

    Establishes systems and partnerships for managing all available school resources to facilitate improved student outcomes

    Facilitates the design and use of a variety of communication strategies with all stakeholders

    Demonstrates inclusive leadership practices that foster a positive school culture and promote safety and equity for all students, staff, and community

    Creates a professional school environment and foster relationships that promote staff and student success and well-being

    Ensures that the school provides an orderly and supportive environment that fosters a sense of safety and well-being

    Commits to an inclusive and positive school environment that meets the needs of all students and promotes the preparation of students to live productively and contribute to the diverse cultural contexts of a global society

    Creates and utilizes systems to share leadership and support collaborative efforts throughout the school

    Designs and utilizes structures and processes which result in family and community engagement and support

    Demonstrates instructional leadership by aligning curriculum, instruction and assessment, supporting professional learning, conducting observations, providing actionable feedback, and holding staff accountable for student outcomes

    Establishes, aligns, and ensures implementation of a plan of instruction, instructional practice, assessments, and use of student data that result in academic growth and achievement for all students

    Fosters a collaborative culture of job-embedded professional learning

    Demonstrates knowledge of effective instructional practice and provide feedback to promote continuous improvement of teaching and learning

    Holds all staff accountable for setting and achieving measurable student outcomes

    Demonstrates professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, and external leadership

    Demonstrates high standards for professional conduct

    Links professional growth to professional goals

    Builds and sustains productive partnerships with key community stakeholders, including public and private sectors, to promote school improvement, student learning, and student well-being

    Assists in the supervision and safety of the school and campus

    Attends all community, staff, and school board meetings and conferences as directed by the principal

    Effectively communicates and understands the impact of decisions on all stakeholders

    Exercises reasonable and prudent leadership in crisis, political, and high-stakes situations

    Manages student discipline in a consistent manner and provides follow-up information to staff and parents/guardians

    Plans and coordinates transportation needs with the Transportation Department

    Plans for and oversees various assessment processes as directed


    Reports to the principal regarding the needs of the school/program with respect to curriculum, instruction, assessment, staff, budget/resources, facilities, etc.

    Stays current with educational trends, research, and best practices

    Supervises and evaluates curricular and extracurricular activities and programs as assigned by the principal

    Takes responsibility for ensuring that all students are progressing toward post-secondary and workforce readiness standards to be mastered by high school graduation; prepares students for success by ensuring mastery of all Colorado Academic Standards, including 21st Century skills

    Takes responsibility for facilitating the preparation of students with the skills, dispositions and attitudes necessary for success in work and post-secondary education, including democratic and civic participation

    Uses evidence and data to evaluate the performance and practices of the school, in order to continually improve attainment of Student Academic Growth; takes responsibility and devises an intentional plan for ensuring that staff is knowledgeable in how to utilize evidence and data to inform instructional decision making to maximize the educational opportunities and instructional program for every child

    The job is very active and regularly requires periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing while on duty.

    While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk and hear.


    Typical demands require staff to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, and may be higher for some assignments depending on position and student need; climb stairs, ladders, and/or stools; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; use fingers to operate computer keyboards; feel the shape, size and temperature of objects; and physically restrain students when necessary.


    The incumbent frequently is required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and to reach with hands and arms.


    The position requires the ability to speak and to be understood, to use normal or aided vision and hearing, and to detect odors.

    Required Qualifications:
    3-5 Years Licensed School Site Experience

    Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.)

    Principal License:
    Initial - Colorado Department of Education
    Meets eligibility requirements by June 1st.


    If currently enrolled, and not yet complete with licensure program, please include a letter from college/university stating completion of program by June 1st.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    3-5 Years of School Administrative Experience

    Master's degree (e.g. M.A., M.S., M.Eng, M.Ed, M.S.W., M.B.A., M.L.S)
