    Description

    Job Title: Microbiology Lab Technician

    Duration: Over 6 months

    Location: Atlanta, GA 30313 (On-site)

    Responsibilities:

    • Belonging to the Corporate QSE team, this role provides essential support to E2E Microbiology processes
    • Conduct routine microbiology clearance of ingredients, laboratory, and pilot plant samples from the Global R&D team in Atlanta
    • Plan and carry out microbiology research experiments using both traditional and molecular techniques
    • Perform various lab activities in the R&D Microbiology laboratory located in Atlanta
    • Design and perform challenge testing to aid the Global Microbiology SME program
    • Coordinate testing activities with both external labs and internal stakeholders
    • Execute microbiology testing such as ingredient and prototype clearance from laboratory and pilot plant facilities
    • Provide microbiology clearance to prototypes developed by the Global R&D teams based in Atlanta
    • Engage in microbiology experimentation to support the E2E microbiology program. Examples include challenge testing, strain identification, validation of rapid methods, development of microbiology techniques, and testing of antimicrobial substances
    • Provide operational support to the microbiology lab by assisting in tasks like media preparation and waste disposal. Ensure laboratory SOPs are current

    Qualifications:

    • Must hold an undergraduate degree in Microbiology
    • Demonstrated experience in microbiology testing and coordinating lab activities
    • Solid scientific background in microbiology and experimental design
    • Proven track record in designing robust experiments; including microbial challenge testing, validation of alternative techniques, and method development
