- Perform non-research biological science work or biological science support work in various scientific and public health areas associated with numerous biological agents

- Package & process shipments
- Store and gather samples from a walk-in freezer
- Check and record temperatures from freezers, coolers, and where deemed necessary
- Prepare routine reports and apply knowledge of the technical rules and procedures to document and prepare analyses and reports
- Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, chemistry, or basic medical science that included at least 20 semester hours in microbiology or other subjects related to the study of microorganisms, and 20 semester hours in the physical and mathematical sciences combining course work in organic chemistry or biochemistry, physics, and college algebra, or their equivalent.
- Experience working with inventory management and material shipping.
- Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for the preparation of memos and reports.
- Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Previous experience working in a similar role.
- Experience modifying methods based upon evaluation of research results.
- Demonstrated skills and experience writing project reports, research protocols and manuscripts.
- Specific detailed knowledge of quality systems and regulatory requirements, handling of clinical specimens, and aseptic techniques.
- Knowledge of documentation for equipment calibration and validation.
- Knowledge of quality systems and inventory software functions.
- The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

ASRT, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be a full-time employee of ASRT, Inc. and will be assigned to the Division of Scientific Resources (DSR), National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic and Infectious Diseases (NCEZID), at the CDC, 1600 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA, to provide support for non-research biological science work or support work in various scientific and public health areas associated with numerous biological agents.
