Hours:

Up to 20 hours per week Position Summary Responsible for all forms and clerical support pertaining to the workers' compensation program.

Responsibilities (Responsibilities may include but are not limited to):
Completes, reviews, and maintains medical records, incident reports, or claim forms related to workplace injuries or workers' compensation claims.
Collects information relating to the validity of the claim.
Acts as a liaison between third party administrator or insurance companies and employer representatives.
Reviews medical bills to ensure that charges are accurate and initiates payment.
Maintains OSHA logs and keeps them updated on a timely basis (weekly)
Responsible for timely completion of all required C Forms pertaining to all Workers' Compensation claims in NY.
Participates in and contributes to safety committee meetings.
Performs other related work as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's Degree preferred or commensurate experience.
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience is required, preferably in support of workers' compensation administration.
Friendly, courteous, and professional disposition in person and over the phone
Discretion and sound judgment
Strong client service orientation
Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
Solid MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Location
Bronx Zoo with the ability to travel occasionally to our other 4 locations: Central Park Zoo, New York Aquarium, Prospect Park Zoo, Queens Zoo
