- Software development in a variety of programming languages and on a variety of hardware platforms
- Maintenance of computer hardware and software
- Maintenance and problem solving of all aspects of the automation system
- Modifications to the automation system to adapt to new products and processes
- Addressing issues that may impact production or system reliability
- Process modeling for mill processes of a chemical, metallurgical and mechanical nature
- Administration of a variety of Operating Systems and relational databases on workstations and servers
- Regular written and oral reports on projects and the status of tasks
- Installation of new process control systems as well as process control modernization projects
- Occasional domestic and international travel to investigate and transfer technology
- Working with complex measurement systems such as
- Vision systems for product quality
- Thermal imaging temperature measurements
- RFID and barcode tag reading for product identification
- X-ray, nuclear gauges, and other gauging systems
- Working with networking technologies, high-speed data transmission and specialty interfaces
- Close coordination with a production department
- Bachelor of Science in an Engineering field
- Previous experience or internship/co-op in manufacturing
