- Maintain and troubleshoot a variety of systems including computer systems, electrical control systems, instrumentation, DCS, and PLC.
- Develop and document processes and control logic, ensuring detailed record-keeping.
- Support Area Managers with automation engineering tasks and projects.
- Prioritize and execute process automation maintenance to enhance facility operations' effectiveness and efficiency.
- Clearly communicate proposed control processes to both management and operations teams.
- Adhere to and advocate for safety and environmental compliance in all tasks.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for off-hours support and respond to forced outages as needed.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of new projects under the guidance of the PAS.
- Proficient in PC/Windows-based software including MS Office Suite.
- Experience with DCS and PLC systems, especially Allen Bradley ControlLogix and Modicon PLC.
- Understanding of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and diagrams (P&IDs, schematics, logic diagrams, etc.)
- Proficient in troubleshooting and maintenance of Plant Control Systems, Network Infrastructure, and computer-related systems.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems software (CMMS)
- Must possess strong listening skills with the ability to process all viewpoints in group discussions while working in a team environment.
- Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations.
- Ability to build supportive and collaborative relationships.
- Serves as a proactive business partner with a focus on finding opportunities and solutions for issues in addition to seeking enhancements that assist in making the company more efficient.
- Degree in electrical, electronic engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Manual dexterity, ability to lift 80 lbs., climb, bend, and work in various conditions including high places and outdoor elements.

Primary Energy, at the forefront of sustainable energy innovation, is seeking a Control Systems Engineer (CSE) that will be stationed at the Cokenergy location that will support all facilities. As a vital technical resource, the CSE plays a crucial role in enhancing process automation across our facilities. You will be instrumental in developing, troubleshooting, and improving automation systems, focusing on optimizing human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and fault-detection methods. This position offers the unique opportunity to contribute to both project-based improvements and the resolution of operational challenges, with a significant focus on DCS and PLC control issues. We are a cross-trained, collaborative team committed to sharing our knowledge and expertise.
