Business Development Manager - Saybolt

SUMMARY


The Sales Manager is primary responsible for implementing effective sales strategies to achieve growth and revenue targets within the designated area (North America and Latin America).

Moreover, the Sales Manager is leading and coaching a team of business development and sales representatives who play a vital role in building good relationships with clients, spot changes for business growth, work internally with other departments, and check how sales are progressing.

Furthermore, the Sales Manager stays in front of industry developments, competitor activities and analyzes sales data to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

Additionally, the Sales Manager works closely with Senior Management for strategy alignment, to discuss resource allocation, progress reporting and discuss decision making, like pricing strategies, marketing efforts and area of company growth.

The Sales Manager makes sure that all sales activities performed are aligned with company policies, expectations and goals.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees and managing the daily activities of the sales team, ensuring effective workflows, clear sales objectives and adherence to policies.
  • Creates successful sales strategies to achieve company growth and reach revenue targets.
  • Build strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and how Saybolt can provide solutions in their needs.
  • Oversees market changes, keeps an eye on what's happening in the industry to find new opportunities within Saybolt.
  • Works closely with Senior Management and other internal departments to make sure that all processes are running smoothly for clients.
  • Regular reports sales numbers to Senior Management, including sales team efforts and status of sales strategies.
  • Oversees and managing accurate reporting of sales activities in the company provided system, makes sure to be up to date with system changes and discuss reporting improvements with Senior Management and sales team.
  • Oversees the integration and utilization of technology and stays updated on relevant company software and tools for improved efficiency or information sharing.
  • Addresses and resolves issues or conflicts, and implements effective problemsolving strategies.
  • Creates an environment that is professional, motivating, supporting, where people can grow and can perform effectively.
  • Leads and inspires the team for being a high performing professional that achieves strategic objectives and organizational goals.
  • Make sure that he does regular market research to keep up with client needs and industry trends.
  • Oversees and makes sure that all activities that are being conducted within the team are being executed in a healthy and safe manner.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Other activities can be required and directed by the Senior Management team.
  • Must sometimes complete projects and duties with very short notice and under extreme time constraints.
  • Saybolt processes are being conducted 24/7 and therefore workhours can occasionally be outside standard office hours.
  • New business opportunity's can lead to temporary increased level of activity for the Sales Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • The Sales Manager will be required to have a Bachelor's Degree or similar level of practical experience.
  • A master's degree in business administration (MBA) or relevant field may be preferred but is not always necessary.
  • Several years of experience in sales, preferably oil, gas and petrochemical industry.
  • Proven track record of success in sales management, including meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of sales techniques, customer relationship management systems and market dynamics.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated professional and polite demeanor required.
  • Understands Microsoft office programs on professional level and has the ability to make from data, useful information.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and make datadrive decisions.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, compliance requirements, and high ethical standards.
  • Problemsolving skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
