This role will support software development across multiple efforts, particularly those associated with Aeris' Department of Defense (DoD) customers

As a Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:

Supporting the development of web and desktop-based software for defense- and aviation-related applications, with a focus on enhancing customer safety and operational efficiency
Interacting with customers and stakeholders to manage requirements and solicit feedback
Participating in the development, implementation, testing, and deployment of new scientific data processing algorithms for applications impacted by weather and environmental conditions
Helping to build and mature software applications used for geophysical data analysis and visualization
Advancing the construction and implementation of scientific software applications on Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) computing platforms As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with one of Aeris' key customers

Your unique background and experience will play directly into the work you are executing each week, and you will be continually learning new technologies while working with your teammates

Required Skills & Experience:

Active TS/SCI clearance
B.S

in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

Minimum of 3 years professional software development experience with modern programing languages such as Java, C++, or Python, along with demonstrated proficiency in multiple languages
Experience developing software for Windows, UNIX/Linux, mobile platforms (Android and iOS) and/or Mac OS X operating systems
The ability to write routine to moderately complex software
Effective communication skills (verbal and written)

Desired Skills & Experience:

Experience developing plugins within with the Team Awareness Kit (TAK), also known as the Tactical Assault Kit, environment
Familiarity with the Hazard Prediction and Assessment Capability (HPAC) and Joint Effect Model (JEM) systems
Experience with object-oriented design/development
Familiarity with standard software engineering design/development practices/procedures such as Agile/Scrum
Experience working with Configuration Management (CM), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD) systems such as Atlassian suite of products (Jira, Bitbucket, and Bamboo) and GitLab.
Experience working with Docker containerization

React, Typescript, Android Studio, OpenLayers

Backend:
Java (Springboot, Maven, Gradle), C++, Python, CUDA, HPC, REST, Docker
