    VP Supply Corp is one of the nation's largest distributors of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical supplies. We have over 350 employees with 15 locations across Western New York and Pennsylvania. For over 50 years, we have proudly served residential customers as well as contractors and municipalities across a variety of industries.

    Position Overview:

    Our Warehouse Team is seeking to hire a Warehouse Receiving Clerk with 1 to 3 years of experience to join our Syracuse branch. As an essential business, our warehouse team is staying busy to meet the growing demands of our customers. The receiving clerk is key to our daily warehouse operations.

Qualified candidates will be motivated self-starters with superb judgment and communication skills, a commitment to excellence and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Schedule freight with buyers/carriers and manage freight claims.
    • Receive purchase orders in ERP system and ensure accuracy. Communicate discrepancies to appropriate buyer in a timely manner.
    • Data validation of Bills of Lading and packing lists to include identify and correct all vendor and warehouse purchase order variances.
    • Research and update nightly receiving reports.
    • Manually track and manage drop shipments.
    • Maintain accurate and timely records in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
    • Create reports and data entry for warehouse performance tracking in Microsoft Excel.
    • Timely and professional cross functional communication, with a high focus on follow through.
    • Ensure warehouse staff follows all company procedures.
    Requirements:

    Qualifications:

    • 1 to 3 years of receiving experience.
    • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Outlook.
    • Must be extremely detailed oriented and able to perform job functions with high accuracy.
    • Must be deadline oriented and able to complete assignments promptly.
    • Strong analytical skills, with proven ability to analyze processes and suggest/implement continuous improvements.
    • Product knowledge in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical material a plus.
    • Must have reliable daily transportation to branch location.

    Work Environment/Physical Demands:

    • This job operates in a warehouse setting. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. While a somewhat sedentary role, frequent standing on feet up to 8 hours/day and some lifting or carrying of items up to 20 pounds may occasionally be required.
