- Receives over-the-counter and mail collections from the public in payment of a variety of bills, assessments, and other charges; issues receipts.

Duties Summary
Receives over-the-counter payments for a variety of bills, assessments, and other charges; tallies cash and prepares daily cash receipts; assesses penalties and interest for delinquent accounts; and performs other related duties as required.
There are two (2) immediate permanent full-time vacancies with the Department of Finance - Vehicle Registration and Licensing Division in Kailua-Kona.
Cashier I positions in Kailua-Kona may be eligible to receive a $1,000 Recruitment Incentive. Conditions apply.
This recruitment is to fill vacancies in the Kailua-Kona district only. Your application will not be accepted if you do not indicate Kailua-Kona as a district in which you are available to work.
Certain Cashier I positions are career ladder positions. The permanent class of work is Vehicle Registration & Licensing Clerk, SR-13, $3,589/month. Persons hired into career ladder positions must meet minimum qualification requirements for the next level in the career ladder series, perform work at the higher level, and meet performance requirements to move to the next level in the career ladder series.
The eligible list may be used to fill other permanent and temporary vacancies in Kailua-Kona as they arise during the life of the list. Temporary appointment may lead to conversion to permanent appointment.
