    This position is responsible for providing operational support across the organization with an emphasis on continuous improvement of operational effectiveness to provide best in class service to our customers in meeting our four Pillars- reliable, responsive, safe and convenient. This includes supporting the identification and implementation of best practices across the organization through collaboration with members of the operations teams in all district offices. The Operations Support Specialist will also support key account customers in collaboration with sales and leaders in each region.

    Essential Functions:

    • Implement, carry-out, and monitor initiatives intended to increase operational effectiveness, including providing support to Regional Managers in the conduct of routine operations performance audits.
    • Collaborate with Operations Managers to provide support, including working on-site in a variety of roles to assist districts.
    • Develop and maintain an understanding of Eastern's technology platforms, solutions and processes.
    • Partner with Logistics and Supply senior managers to oversee tank utilization, including purchasing, field inventory, outsourced and internal tank rehabs, and deployment of tanks to ensure that districts have the resources needed to support sales growth.
    • Foster trusting relationships with key account customers to maintain long-term relationships.
    • Acquire a thorough understanding of customer needs, including requirements of key account customers, and addressing any challenges in collaboration with local sales and service teams.
    • Work closely with the Safety and Risk Team and develop an understanding of rules and regulations that impact service and sales teams.
    • Develop a thorough understanding of Eastern's emergency response protocols and support and/or participate in Eastern's response to emergencies
    • Foster relationships with industry professionals and maintain knowledge and application of industry protocols.
    • Special projects as assigned by COO.
    • Travel regularly to districts, including overnight.
    • Be receptive to and competently use new technologies.
    • Be receptive to and successfully complete other duties as assigned.

    Accountabilities:

    • Develop and maintain expertise in Eastern's operational processes and industry knowledge.
    • Identify opportunities for operational improvements.
    • Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers including cross-departmental interactions and by working collaboratively across the company.
    • Keep all company information confidential and only use company information in the context of assigned duties.
    • Complete work assignments accurately and timely.
    • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in all facets of job.
    • Act as a liaison to the communities Eastern serves.
    • Consistently adhere to and support Eastern's Core Values, Mission Statement, Vision, and Pillars.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Education: High school diploma or GED; Associates or Bachelors Degree in business preferred.
    • Experience: 10+ years of industry experience and 5+ years of leadership experience.
    • Prior delivery, service, or sales experience, including understanding safety protocols and providing solutions based on customer needs a plus.
    • A high level of critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with all stakeholders is required.
    • Must be performance driven, able to work well with deadlines, and manage multiple projects.
