If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams in a global context, then we could be a perfect match. The Global Headquarters for Volvo Financial Services is seeking a Director of Data to provide leadership and direction to the Data area of VFS Digital and IT.

    What you will do

As Director Data you will be responsible for leading the organization's data management, data governance, and data operations. You will also ensure we are maximizing the value of data across the company. This role involves strategic planning, data team leadership, and people management. The Director Data will oversee data processing and operations, data quality, product development, and data science/AI practices. You will work closely with other delivery heads to support data-driven decision-making.

Your starting point will be to, together with your colleagues at VFS and in the broad cross-functional network at the Volvo Group, take responsibility in the following areas:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive data strategies that align with the Volvo Group and more specifically with Volvo Financial Services' objectives.

    • Lead the data governance framework to ensure data quality, consistency, and security.

    • Work closely with the Volvo Group on the management of data platforms, tools, infrastructure, and data governance models and principals

    • Drive the data science team together with the Volvo Group AI team, providing insights and predictions to drive decision-making and operational excellence.

    • Manage a team of data professionals, including data analysts, information analysts, data engineers, and data scientists located in multiple markets across regions.

    • Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance data capabilities and efficiencies.

    • Monitor industry trends and advancements in data management, analytics, and technology.

    Your future team

You will report directly to the Chief Digital Officer. In VFS, we demonstrate a clear vision to continue Transforming Together, a global mindset and a proven track record of successfully developing people, teams, culture, and leadership.

    • Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across various teams and senior management.

    • Knowledgeable on the MS Azure technology stack is a plus.
