- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, including goals, objectives, and accommodations to support their academic and social development.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in various educational settings, adapting teaching strategies and materials to meet individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure that students with special needs are fully integrated into the classroom and receive appropriate accommodations and modifications.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and assess learning outcomes to inform instructional planning and make adjustments as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress, goals, and interventions.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other collaborative meetings to review student progress, discuss concerns, and develop intervention strategies.
- Stay informed about current best practices in special education and engage in ongoing professional development activities.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution.
- Valid New Hampshire state teaching certification in Special Education (or ability to obtain certification).
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher in an educational setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong instructional and behavior management skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and foster inclusive environments.
