    Job Title: Personal Injury Litigation Defense Associate Attorney

    FLSA Classification: Exempt; Salaried

    Schedule: Full-time; Hybrid

    Reports to: Managing Shareholder

    Date: May, 2024

    Salary: $110,000 - $135,000 base salary, commensurate with experience and billing goals. Bonus programs provide the opportunity for substantial additional compensation.

    Summary:

    ZKS LAW has an immediate opening for a strong Personal Injury Litigation Defense Attorney or Of-Counsel with 2-7 years of defense litigation experience in the below areas. Trial experience a plus but not required. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop and build their practice for long-term success.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Assigns work to department legal assistant.

    Responsibilities, Skills, and Abilities:

    · Conduct legal research and analysis on personal injury defense cases.

    · Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

    · Assist in the preparation of discovery requests and responses.

    · Conduct depositions, witness interviews, and other fact-finding activities.

    · Develop and implement case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.

    · Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as necessary.

    · Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in litigation.

    · Manage case files, deadlines, and documentation in an organized and efficient manner.

    · Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on various matters related to personal injury defense litigation.

    · Stay informed about changes in laws, regulations, and legal precedent relevant to personal injury defense.

    Required Skills:

    · Strong analytical and writing skills;

    · Clear and effective communication skills;

    · Able to work independently and in a collective team environment;

    · Strong work ethic and an ability to meet deadlines;

    · Experience using Westlaw for legal research; ATO experience preferred;

    · Highly motivated and dedicated to excellent client service.

    Education and Experience:

    · Licensed in the state of Florida;

    · 2-7 years of applicable defense experience, including litigation;

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

    Work Environment:

    · The first 90 days of onboarding/training are required to occur on-site.

    · Subject to change per the Managing Shareholder: the team is currently working a hybrid schedule with two days weekly in office.

    · More in-office time is required during trial preparation.

    · Successful candidates will feel confident about their ability to work effectively and collaboratively, no matter the setting.
