Calculation Engineer Automotive - Hatfield, United States - Infinity Systems
Description
In your role, you will be involved in project work for products in the areas of interior, battery systems, and component systems at Hatfield.
Your responsibilities
- Numerical design of components and assemblies
- Creation, maintenance, and optimization of simulation models
- Conducting and documenting FEM calculations (crash, stiffness, strength, dynamic and thermal loads, etc.)
- Analysis and documentation of simulation results and derivation of corresponding improvement measures
- Presenting and discussing the results internally and with our customers
- Advising and supporting our customers in component development and maturity enhancement within development projects
Your profile
- Completed engineering degree (mechanical engineering, lightweight construction and simulation, plastics engineering, or similar) or equivalent professional background
- Professional experience in FEM calculation and application of computer-aided methods for component design, ideally in the automotive industry
- Knowledge of technical mechanics, strength of materials, kinematics, and materials science
- Knowledge of common FEM programs (e.g. LS-Dyna, ABAQUS, ANSA, Altair Hyperworks)
- Programming skills and practical experience with 3D CAD systems desirable
- Fluent in German and English
