    Title of Position: Security Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    Department: Security Salary: 30.74/hr

    Reports to: Field Manager Security Operations

    Positions reporting to this position: Security Shift Supervisors

    Purpose of the Position

    The Security Manager is responsible for ensuring security coverage of the assigned site 24 hours, 7 days a week. The individual in this position develops protocols for security staff and conducts training. The Security Manager is the Win point of contact for all Department of Homeless Services (DHS) of incidents and accidents. The Security Manager maintains security logs, client and visitor attendance documentation, and provides the Program Director with a report for all overnight and weekend occurrences.

    Responsibilities:

    Ensure there is appropriate levels of security coverage 24 hours, 7 days a week.

    Collaborate with the Field Manager to ensure all licenses and certifications are current and meet all licensing and regulatory requirements.

    Ensure accurate processing of staff payroll.

    Develop safety protocols including staff and clients.

    Monitor the effectiveness of all protocols and recommend changes.

    Ensure incident reports and all related paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted in accordance with Win standards.

    Ensure performance evaluations are completed and submitted on time.

    Coordinate monthly fire drills and emergency evacuations for all security shifts.

    Monitor security and fire alarm systems and have knowledge of emergency procedures.

    Conduct security procedures training for staff and clients as needed.

    Maintain basic knowledge of building features and potential problems.

    Provide direct supervision to Security Shift Supervisors and provide training.

    Cooperate with the Human Capital Department to address recruitment and staff performance concerns.

    Collaborate with the Human Capital Department for all investigations.

    Champion and model the use of Evidence Based Practices (EBP), promote Trauma Informed Care (TIC) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

    Perform crisis intervention.

    Recognize signs of abuse and work as part of the residence team to identify drug use, child abuse and neglect or other unusual activity.

    Establish and maintain good relationships with police and fire departments in the community.

    Participate in community advisory board meetings as needed.

    Serve as a consultant on security/safety matters to Wins interdisciplinary team.

    Work with Maintenance Director to monitor inventory control.

    Monitor Client Assistance and Rehousing Enterprise System (CARES) CARES to ensure accuracy and consistency of initial intake and discharge data for Win clients.

    Interact effectively with the clients, staff and visitors including Department of Homeless Services (DHS) representatives.

    Attend shelter meetings, organization wide meetings, and staff training as assigned.

    Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Essential Functions:

    Must be able to visually observe CCTV camera.

    Must be able to ascend/descend stairs in an 8-story building.

    Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time.

    Must be able to lift and use a fire extinguisher.

    Qualifications:

    H.S. diploma or equivalent required.

    Five (5) years of experience providing security services in social service or residential setting.

    Valid NYS Security Guard License required.

    Valid NYS Fire Safety License / F80 or F58.

    Valid Fire Safety Director Certification and First Aid/CPR/AED required.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Knowledge of crisis intervention a plus.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

    Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

    in Wins Employee Handbook. Use MI and TIC practices consistently and effectively.

    Take client issues to the appropriate people within the organization to obtain the most accurate information to meet the clients needs.
