- Act as point of contact for faculty and prepare necessary documents and other materials in support of teaching at ELA.
- Prepare draft course schedule, classroom assignments, and other documents for review by the ELA Assistant Academic Dean and AVP for Academic Affairs in Boston.
- Administer class assignments and schedules for all faculty in compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Provide marketing and production support for department-sponsored and other campus events including academic orientation, professional development events, visiting faculty lectures, class showcases, and other academic programming.
- Administer faculty onboarding process according to ELA and College policies and collaborate with Assistant Academic Dean in the recruitment and hiring process for new faculty.
- Track and manage department expenditures and reconcile department's' P-card purchases; process payments for affiliated faculty and guest speaker honoraria; administer end-of year budget process for department with Assistant Academic Dean and AVP of Academic Administration and Finance.
- Administer ELA Professional Development Fund grant applications and faculty requests prior to approval by Assistant Academic Dean
- Manage and develop department's academic resources including academic text reserves and the DVD library.
- Serve as liaison to students as needed and administer student course registrations, permissions, and waivers in Banner in collaboration with Boston-based departments.
- Manage regular communication with students on registration, enrollment, and department policy.
- Recruit, hire, and manage department's student workers (up to two per term), including determining schedules and monitoring workflows.
- Manage ELA faculty lounge.
- Assist with department-related scheduling and other clerical tasks.
- Draft and proofread department communications and marketing materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2 to 4 years experience managing operations of an academic department and providing support to faculty preferred.
- Familiarity with and proficiency in College's ERP systems, particularly Workday and Banner.
- Experience producing events.

This position manages key activities of the office of Academic Affairs and Internships at Emerson Los Angeles (ELA) and administers its daily operations, including planning and coordination of some campus events; serves as a point of contact and support for ELA affiliated faculty and visiting Faculty Fellows; serves as initial point of contact for the office; prepares draft course schedules and classroom assignments as well as confidential data including part-time instructor contracts; maintains faculty and student records including managing student registrations, student add/drop forms, and course changes or cancellations; develops and maintains departments' academic resources; manages department's two student workers in administrative support roles.
