About the Department
UChicago STEM Education is a center devoted to research and development that resides within the Physical Sciences Division (PSD) of the University of Chicago.
UChicago STEM Education continues the University of Chicago's long-standing commitment to improving precollege education and aims to support high quality instruction and learning for all students.
Through the sharing of knowledge and the creation of useful products and programs, UChicago STEM Education seeks to make a positive difference for instruction throughout the nation.
UChicago Financial Education Initiative, part of UChicago STEM Education, seeks to empower all individuals to navigate the financial system with confidence, make informed and reasoned financial decisions throughout their lives, and realize long-term financial well-being.
The Initiative was launched in July 2016 to develop the tools, resources, and capacity to spread robust financial education across the country.
This includes the development and publication of tools for kids and families. The Initiative is regularly invited to conferences and educational events to share their unique approach to financial education.Job Summary
Join a fast-paced and innovative team that is developing a world-class elementary financial education curriculum for students in Hong Kong.
Responsibilities:
- Develops programs for elementary school education
- Writes and deliver professional development for a wide variety of schools and grade levels
- Develops financial education materials for students and teachers. Requires a deep understanding financial education content
- Reviews research and development of curriculum, models, and best practices in the field of education
- Works with teachers and other organizations to support the field test of the program
- May lead the implementation of professional development workshops for teachers
- Uses indepth experience in the establishment of collaborative partnerships with other organizations
- Develops programs for primary and secondary school education. Requires a deep understanding of the field of primary and secondary school education
- Utilizes indepth experience in the identification and establishment of collaborative partnerships with schools
- Performs other related work as needed
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of financial education
- Strong writing skills
- Presentation skills
- Experience authoring K8 financial literacy instructional materials
- Experience teaching K8
- Experience designing and implementing training programs for K8 teachers and leaders
- Strong organizational, verbal, and communication skills
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Proficiency with standard word processing programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Docs)
