    Responsibilities:

    • Work within the existing Records and FOIA department to be specialized in the intersection of criminal law & immigration law.
    • Assisting the Supervisor and PL Team Lead to develop processes and procedures in the Records & FOIA department.
    • Working with the U Visa/U Cert Team to identify qualifying criminal activity before Attorney Review.
    • Working with the RFE Team to provide support in obtaining, analyzing, and organizing criminal and immigration history.
    • Able to quickly analyze and review legal documents pertaining to assigned cases, such as FBI Background checks, FOIAs, Police Reports, Court Dispositions, etc.
    • Complete the review of each assigned case in a timely manner and submit them for attorney review.
    • Communicate efficiently with different team members and departments.
    • Provide feedback to other team members who worked on earlier stages of the case according to the company's guidelines.
    • Actively participate in weekly meetings with the Team Leader and Supervisor, addressing issues and problems encountered during the case review and possible solutions
    • Other duties may be assigned
    • This role will likely evolve as the Records & FOIA team develops

    Requirements and skills:

    • Bachelor's Degree, A.A. or A.S and Paralegal Certificate.
    • Minimum 2 years of Criminal Law Experience - preferred federal criminal.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the team.
    • Ability to multitask.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Analytical and critical thinking.
    • Computer proficient (Microsoft Suite)Time Management Skills.
    • Experience with Lexis Nexis or other legal research software.
    • Adhere to the company's policies and procedures.
