Job Summary and Qualifications

The Monitor Technician is responsible for the observation of patient monitoring systems, including cardiac monitoring and pulse oximetry for a select group of patients at StoneCrest The MT is competent in arrhythmia recognition, interpretation and notification.

Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice, and maintains a safe environment. Participates in performance improvement activities as directed. Provides input and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital's mission and vision statement.

What expectations are asked of a Monitor Tech?

Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies listed on the competency validation checklist(s).
Ensures the privacy of our patients and confidentiality of their Protected Health Information (PHI).
Meets mutually agreed upon performance goals/objectives as listed on the Performance Management Plan.
Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
Documents all patient rhythms.
Promotes customer service initiatives.
Promotes and exhibits teamwork.
Completes mandatory education timely
Complies with hospital policies/procedures and patient safety initiatives.

What qualifications you will need:

Prior experience as a Monitor Technician or successful completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Course.
Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
