Uniquely we also partner with the NHS to provide care within large NHS teaching hospitals. No other UK provider can match our global scale, breadth and depth of knowledge and expertise.

We treat 27 million people each year across our global network, and many of our hospitals are rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC. Covering virtually all aspects of medicine from prevention and diagnosis through to treatment and aftercare in both our Primary and Secondary Care Divisions. Cardiac and Cancer Care, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Rehabilitation, Urgent Care, GP and Health screening to Obstetrics, IVF and Maternity care, to name a few.
Our Mission and Values

At HCA Healthcare UK, above all else we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. It’s our mission. The driving force behind everything we do. We put our patients first and celebrate the unique worth of each individual and the perspectives they bring. We believe that exceptional healthcare is built on a foundation of inclusion, compassion and respect for our patients and for each other. This is where our values come in, the four pillars that guide us all and help us deliver against our mission. They are:

Unique and Individual: We recognise and value everyone as unique and individual

Kindness and compassion: We treat people with kindness and compassion

Honesty, integrity and fairness: We act with absolute honesty, integrity and fairness

Loyalty, respect and dignity: We trust and treat one another as valued members of the HCA UK family with loyalty, respect and dignity

We want our nurses to thrive while they’re with us, so we’ll give you all the resources you need to build you career at HCA. This includes access to the most advanced technology, ongoing training and development, the opportunity to work alongside some of the worlds leading consultants and finally, more time to care. With a better nurse-to-patient ratio you’ll be given the time to really make a difference to patients lives. You’ll also have the opportunity to take patients through the entire care journey, from initial diagnosis to treatment outcome.

We have opportunities for nurses at all levels, both in general nursing and in a variety of specialisms. From ITU and Surgical, to Oncology and Paediatrics, wherever you join us, you’ll collaborate with consultants to deliver treatment plans and have direct involvement in the patient care pathway.

Doctors - Hospitals and Outpatients

“Putting patients first” was the founding philosophy of the doctors who established HCA in 1968. Since then, we have worked closely with medical professionals to put the health and wellbeing of all patients at the centre of what we do. As a Resident Doctor or Clinical Fellow at HCA, you’ll work with the latest cutting-edge technology and innovative therapy treatments. You’ll receive support for funded fellowship in clinical research or medical management, and part-time flexible shifts to support your commitments outside work, enabling you to carve a career that meets your ambitions.

You’ll also receive robust training and support, thanks to our network of partnerships with universities, business schools and teaching hospitals. This is your chance to work alongside leading consultants in an environment where outstanding patient care is paramount.

Midwives

As one of our midwives or neonatal nurses, you’ll have the time and resources you need to deliver care you can be truly proud of. Sometimes you’ll take the lead in delivering care; or if there’s more risk of complications – you’ll be supporting one of our renowned consultants. Either way, you’ll have everything you need to provide exceptional maternity guidance and support.

With more than 1,400 deliveries a year, we put women at the centre of their own maternity experience, offering both midwife-led and consultant-led care, and the full range of birthing options to enable them to develop their own birth plan.

GP's and Primary Care

At HCA UK we recognise that our GPs are the foundation of our business and have ensured that they are in the best position to deliver exceptional care to every patient. From flexible working patterns, diverse career opportunities, multiple opportunities for CPD and the time to care for your patients, you will receive the right training, support and development to help you flourish.

Whether you are a GP working in one of our many first class general practices, or at our state of the art Urgent Care Centres; working for a private healthcare group you can really take personal reward in putting your patients first and being able to practice to the highest of standards. With fantastic levels of equipment at your fingertips and access to leading diagnostic tests, treatments and referral pathways, you can truly be the GP you trained to be.

Laboratories

Working in our labs you’ll have the opportunity to deliver an efficient, robust laboratory service as part of a holistic, patient-centric team. Our laboratories serve all of our UK facilities as well as many external healthcare providers. Not only have we invested £3 million in laboratory equipment and laboratory space, but we also have new leadership and a brand new vision that will enable us to build on our 35 years of experience in the field, helping us deliver the most powerful UKAS accredited pathology service.

The talented pathologists working in our labs analyse specimens for a complete range of medical conditions, illnesses and pathologies. We cover all disciplines, including allergy, biochemistry and endocrinology, haematology and blood transfusion, histopathology and cytology, immunology, microbiology and serology.
