    JOB SUMMARY:


    Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Ophthalmic Technician for the Refractive Surgery Center assists with laser vision correction procedures, performs diagnostic testing on laser vision patients and maintains equipment.

    Performs Diagnostic studies such as Pentacam and iDESIGN. Calibrates Lasers, changes and refills all gasses for the lasers. Will prepare equipment and rooms for procedures. Will provide superior customer service to our patients, physicians and family members. Responsible for completing all orientation and education programs as directed by manager.



    Hours:

    As needed - to cover vacation, sick time and when surgical volume allows

    Hours:

    Monday-Friday 8am-4pm


    EDUCATION:
    HS diploma or equivalent required, (COA) preferred, and previous ophthalmic technician surgical experience required


    REQUIREMENTS:
    Ability to assist on Yag procedures

    Performance of diagnostic studies:
    iDESIGN and Pentacam

    Ability to use a personal computer with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    Since 1865, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (SBMC), located at 94 Old Short Hills Road in Livingston, is New Jersey s oldest nonprofit, nonsectarian hospital.
