Ophthalmic Technician
Job Overview:
Responsibilities:
- Interview patients and document ocular and medical histories.
- Perform preliminary testing ie: visual acuity, administer eye drops, visual fields, color vision and tonometry.
- Perform diagnostic testing including OCT, B scans, ophthalmic fundus photos and fluorescein angiography (will train).
- Assist in minor surgery procedures & laser surgery.
- Monitor and facilitate patient flow in the clinic and in the imaging rooms, working collaboratively with other clinical staff.
- EMR scribing.
- Perform clinical and administrative duties as directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Special Skills:
- Ability to work well with others.
- Reliable
- Excellent communication skills
- Data entry and typing skills.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills
