- Preparation, review and analysis of various monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory filings and management reporting requirements
- Responsible for the oversight and key deliverables and analysis related to SCI, Scotia Commodities Inc and Scotia Real Estate Inc.
- Lead and/or assist in projects related to regulatory and statutory matters for the entities that we support.
- Preparation, review and approval of various deliverables in the team as assigned and provide cross coverage during peak volume periods and staff absences.
- Preparation and review of daily reporting and analysis of SCIs holdings of BNS issued securities for the purposes of managing SCIs Limited Recourse Loan and associated activities.
- Lead and assist in the completion of audit deliverables and other miscellaneous ad hoc requests from internal and external parties.
- Understand how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

- 7+ years of related Financial Industry experience
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytical / problem solving skills are necessary.
- Ability to be highly organized, to work well under pressure, and to handle multiple tasks within tight time constraints.
- Ability to work efficiently independently as well as collaboratively within the team and across multiple departments.
- Strong knowledge of IIROC Rules and Regulations
- An in depth understanding of securities dealer activities and of various types of securities/transactions (fixed income, equity, money market, derivatives, etc)
- Strong knowledge of accounting procedures.
- Working knowledge of Broadridge and PeopleSoft is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; an ability to read / edit / write macros are required.
- MBA, CPA or CFA is an asset.

(SCI) Regulatory Reporting team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives.
