This is what you will do:

The Associate Director for aHUS Strategy in Alexion's Patient Services department will drive the implementation and ongoing management of key initiatives across all aspects of Patient Services as it relates to aHUS.

The primary purpose will be to support the Hematology & Nephrology Business Unit within Patient Services ensuring that we are providing best in class support to our aHUS patients.

The role will be critical to the development, implementation, and management of strategic patient support initiatives that support a successful and efficient patient journey.

This role will work with all levels of Patient Services and many cross functional partners including the Field Team, Market Access, IT, Brand Teams, and more to understand patient needs, develop appropriate strategies, and manage the tactics that come from these strategies


You will be responsible for:


  • Design and implement initiatives that will positively impact and drive successful patient journey
  • Manage patient support programs including daytoday management, operational partnerships, vendor relationships with a focus on driving strategic improvements
  • Utilize data to analyze business performance and update strategies as needed
  • Partner with brand teams on aHUS patient engagement strategy and support launch planning for future Hem/Neph products and indications
  • Partner with Patient Services colleagues, to include Patient Education Manager field teams, on program feedback and designing needed updates to existing programs and tactics
  • Partner crossfunctionally to implement new initiatives including material design and approval, training plans, and communication strategy
  • Partner with aHUS & Patient Services marketing on messaging, form creation, website updates, etc.
  • Partner with patient advocacy to understand patient needs
  • Responsible for patient access initiative rollouts across Hem/Neph portfolio in collaboration with Patient Access Strategy Team
  • Strong cross functional collaboration with PHN PS Strategy Counterpart
  • Coordinate and deliver the Patient Services aHUS Brand Plan

You will need to have:


  • B.A. / B.S. Degree is required; an advanced degree is a plus
  • 5+ years health care industry experience, pharmaceutical experience required
  • Strong understanding of patient program development and implementation required
  • Indepth knowledge and current expertise with HIPAA, OIG, CMS, privacy, and regulatory statutes
  • Established standard of excellence for independent personal performance
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to manage and execute complex projects independently
  • Strong healthcare customer orientation and customer management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong vendor management skills
  • Ability to partner, build relationships and influence decision making within multidisciplinary teams
  • Manage and influence on multiple organizational levels
  • Manage complexity, think strategically, and understand details
  • Extensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the competitive environment.
  • Excellent partnering skills and demonstrate ability to negotiate effectively.
