Family Practice OR Internal Medicine Physician New Rochelle, NY

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician with Sports Med/Ortho experience to join our practice full time in New Rochelle, NY.

The incoming physician will be examining patients that need to undergo physical therapy and diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition.

The physician will then be determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients and recommending and undertaking various medical procedures.

Examining patients that need to undergo physical therapy
Recommending and undertaking various medical procedures, such as disc decompression, prolotherapy, and vertebroplasty to treat pain and improve physical functioning
Lead a team of medical professionals, which may include physical therapists and occupational therapists, to optimize patient care
Monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients, and changing treatment plans, as necessary
Providing adaptive tools to improve the overall health and physical functioning of patients
Counseling patients and their families and helping them adapt to lifestyle changes
Performs initial evaluation on each patient to determine patient's need and ability to participate in the rehabilitation process
Initiate's prescriptions to be followed by the appropriate therapy units, and modifies that prescription as indicated by the patient's response to therapy and his/her medical condition
Prescribes appropriate prosthetic and orthotic devices as indicated. Keeps complete medical records of all services provided and the patients' progress
Interacts with community-based referral sources, i.e. physicians, social workers, rehabilitation nurses, insurance companies, DVR counselors, etc., BCBE in Family Practice or Internal Medicine with extensive Sports Medicine/Ortho based conditions or injuries
