- Clinical
- Collect background information for all students registered with the School Health Program.
- Obtain recent comprehensive physical examination for students with primary care providers.
- Serve as primary care provider for students with no insurance and/or no primary care provider.
- Conduct regular comprehensive physical examination of students.
- Perform health maintenance examination of students using the school-based health clinic as primary care site.
- Develop appropriate care plan for all students seen in clinic.
- Examine, assess, and plan treatment for walk-in and acute care visits.
- Manage treatment/follow-up plan for students with chronic illness.
- Analyze differential diagnoses based on clinical and lab data.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and screening tests and procedures as needed.
- Dispense clinic medications and prescribe when necessary.
- Perform minor procedures in school site as applicable.
- Communicate treatment plan effectively with students and their families.
- Collaborate with primary care providers when appropriate.
- Make referrals to other healthcare professionals when needed.
- Identify psychosocial and mental health issues for appropriate intervention.
- Educate students and families on treatment plans and medications.
- Conduct clinical case reviews with mental health providers and team members.
- Record information, assessments, and treatment plans for each student visit in medical record.
- Document all relevant details on encounter forms.
- Label dispensed medicines with patient details.
- Fill out referral forms as required.
- Communicate with parents and primary care providers regarding health issues and care levels.
- Follow-up on referrals to other healthcare professionals.
- Coordinate care for children with chronic health concerns.
- Collaborate with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals for student treatment plans.
- Liaise with school personnel for student services.
- Lead health education and preventive care activities aligned with program goals.
- Educate team on clinical cases and primary care aspects.
- Supervise pediatric residents during clinical rotation.
