    **Description**

    POSITION PURPOSE:

    The Buyer is responsible for creating and maintaining purchase orders utilizing Stock IQ (planning system), MRP and KANBAN methodologies to meet daily production requirements. Assure the supply of all materials and products including on time delivery and acceptable quality.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Validate Rockysoft recommendations daily and issue purchase orders accordingly.

    Work closely with production in order to expedite possible shortages.

    Maintain optimum level of inventory while reducing total cost of ownership.

    Provide high level customer service to internal customers.

    Works with accounts payable to resolve discrepancies in receipts/invoices.

    Provide the proper documents to accounting in order to take advantage of any possible vendor discounts.

    Works with vendors and receiving department to address, return and receive credit for defective materials.

    Measure and evaluate supplier performance (price, quantity, on time delivery).

    Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.

    Ensure a clean and organized work environment.

    Adhere to all company standards and policies.

    Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.

    Other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and the capacity to learn new systems.

    Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and effective organizational skills.

    Tenacity in overcoming obstacles while maintaining productive and positive working relationships.

    Ability to execute in a rapidly changing fast paced environment that requires strong team work.

    Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Required:

    Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.

    ERP experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

    Preferred:

    2 to 3 years work experience in procurement or material management
