    Accounts Payable/ Commission Specialist
    Position Summary:
    We are seeking a self-starter experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our startup solar company. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sales commission structures, accounts payable, billables and QuickBooks Online. As our Accounts Payable/ Commission's Specialist, you will play a crucial role in helping us manage our financial transactions and ensure accuracy in our financial records.
    Responsibilities:

    • Oversees reports regarding cash flow; ensures correct payments are made in a timely manner.
    • Develops guidelines for proper handling and coding of invoices to maintain general ledger expense account and inventory records.
    • Analyzes expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
    • Verifies payments before controllers signature is added by reviewing checks and vouchers.
    • Reconciles accounts payable total and general ledger with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors ledger).
    • Facilitates correct and timely preparation of budget reports and purchase journals.
    • Ensures proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
    • Ensures employer identification numbers or social security numbers have been collected from all vendors for the payables clerk to prepare and submit 1099s.
    • Ensures proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records in case of audits.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Desired Experience and Skills:

    • Prior experience as an Account Payable Specialist, Commissions Specialist or related position.
    • Strong understanding of commission structures and experience managing sales commissions.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, with one year of experience in an accounting office; OR
    • Three or four years of accounting experience with at least one years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.


    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
