    Job Title: Account Manager
    Company: Blue Cross

    Residing in Louisiana or open to relocating there is preferred for all roles.

    POSITION PURPOSE
    Managing, planning, and executing a portfolio of complex large group accounts to achieve specific targets and enhance business growth. This includes acting as a consultant to strategic accounts, retaining and selling various lines of business, as well as collaborating closely with the assigned account executive to develop tactical plans and implement account strategies effectively.

    Establishing and nurturing strong relationships with existing groups and producers to ensure high retention levels within our group accounts.

    Compliance with all relevant laws and regulations is a key accountability.

    NATURE AND SCOPE
    This position involves managing accounts and does not include leading a team. This role reports to the Regional Director of Group and Individual Sales.

    Necessary Contacts:
    In order to excel in this role, the incumbent must collaborate with various stakeholders including staff members from regional offices, customer service, underwriting, provider contracting, brokers, group leaders, employees, group management executives, decision-makers, and network providers.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education
    Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is required. Equivalent experience of four years can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.

    Work Experience
    Minimum of 4 years working as an Account Manager with expertise in self-funded products and stop loss.

    Skills and Abilities
    Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships with consultants, customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders across all levels. Skilled in delivering impactful presentations, setting and monitoring objectives, as well as proficient in utilizing MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

    Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and negotiation skills are essential. Must be willing to travel within and out of the state for 70% and 10% of the time respectively, with occasional overnight stays.

    Licenses and Certifications
    Hold a valid Louisiana state health and life insurance license. Additional certifications such as Certified Health Consultant, HIAA, or similar industry courses are advantageous.

    ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    - Coordinating and facilitating the group renewal process by engaging with key stakeholders and decision-makers within the group.
    - Conducting employee enrollment meetings and addressing benefit-related inquiries promptly to ensure smooth group renewals.
    - Analyzing client requirements to recommend product enhancements, deliver comprehensive benefit analyses, introduce ancillary products, and propose additional coverage.
    - Negotiating pricing with clients and underwriting, exploring alternative plans to optimize rates.
    - Assisting in organizing office visits for prospective or renewing groups, overseeing presentations and tours, and maintaining accurate records of all interactions.

    Additional Accountabilities and Essential Functions

    The job involves normal office environment tasks performed while standing or sitting. Ability to comprehend, document, calculate, visualize, and analyze is essential.
