Koniag Technology Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a Top-Secret Clearance to work with KTS and a government client in Washington, DC.

Koniag Technology Solutions, LLC is in search of a Mechanical Engineer in Washington, DC, to serve as the main point of contact between our office and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). The Mechanical Engineer will represent a diverse team, be self-motivated, well-organized, design-focused, and customer-oriented.

Responsibilities:

Establish design standards and criteria for construction projects as a consultant.
Provide expert mechanical engineering input based on requirements.
Review mechanical system layouts in specialized rooms like data closets and communications rooms.
Perform and interpret cooling load calculations.
Examine ductwork layouts and understand ducted and plenum return air systems.
Evaluate different mechanical systems, identifying their pros and cons.
Review drawings to ensure compliance with local codes.
Develop cost estimates and scope of work for HVAC systems.
Participate in quality control and assurance during construction.

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering.
10 years of experience in designing building electrical systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
Top Secret security clearance required.

Working Environment & Conditions:

This role operates in a professional office setting with mostly low to moderate noise levels. Standard office equipment like computers, phones, and fax machines are routinely used.

The position is primarily indoors with low to moderate noise levels.

The job may involve prolonged sitting and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.

Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
