    As TSNE's newest initiative, Shared Services provides a one-stop solution for nonprofits, particularly BIPOC-led and -serving, seeking a trusted, mission-aligned partner to help manage "back-office" organizational finances and operations, and "front-office" consulting in organizational development, strategy, and operations.

    The Senior Portfolio Manager, Shared Services (SPM) will lead a portfolio of shared services nonprofit organizations (NPOs), providing them with support around grants, finance, and overall operations.

    The SPM ensures that the finance and grant management services are delivered timely, accurately, efficiently, effectively, maintaining a professional and amiable client relationship with the NPOs, and providing direct high level customer service around short and long-term financial sustainability and growth, while at the same time building positive and productive relationships with our clients.

    In the second phase, Shared Services will expand with the development of cooperatively owned solution-based services, encompassing finance, HR, communications, evaluation and other services.

    The SPM will play an integral role in ensuring these services are provided through a responsive and cohesive approach to NPOs who select these additional services.

    This role oversees assigned Portfolio Managers (PMs), who have their own portfolio, and a Portfolio Associate (PA), who supports the team as directed by the SPM.

    This position also supports cross-departmental leadership and coordination.

    Grants and Finance Management – 35%
    Support a portfolio of NPOs with financial management services including:
    Reviewing grant proposals, awards, amendments, agreements and assist with budgets and ensure budgets are aligned with anticipated outcomes and ensure funders' compliance requirements;
    Monitoring spending, adjust payroll allocation as necessary, prepare necessary reporting;
    Ensuring grants are closed out on an accurate and timely basis.
    ensuring timely and accurate processing of payables, receivables, deposits and billing;Preparation, review and timely distribution of financial reports, funder reports, annual budgets and long-term financial plans based on NPO initial drafts;
    Document and address issues requiring attention and/or further discussion with NPO and/or supervisor;
    Assist NPO leadership with understanding financial statements or other reports as needed;
    Lead "big picture" review of financials in monthly and quarterly meetings with Senior NPO staff, which includes allocations, projections, financial scenarios, and other ad-hoc analysis as necessary;
    Analyze and monitor NPO fund and cash balances to ensure adequate reserves;
    Assist with maintenance of record-keeping and systems management to ensure compliance
    Program Support and Leadership – 50%
    Conduct, lead and coordinate organizational updates on financial health, human resources, compliance and risk as well as other updates on regular basis
    Lead and coordinate operational-driven workflow creation or changes between NPO and TSNE internal staff. For example, special billing needs, expense or procurement needs;
    Identify options, prepare analysis and recommend solutions to address fund balance issues;
    Lead coordination and integration of NPO back-end services as well as other TSNE services;
    Provide on-boarding and ongoing training to NPO staff around client management best practices;
    Coordinate horizontal teams to leverage supports from the accounting, human resources, payroll, and other teams as well as vertically for escalation and leadership support;
    Work closely with the Senior Director of Shared Services to problem-solve, evaluate NPO performance and forecasting, and ensure the best possible service to all NPOs;
    Lead financial system/budget module reporting efforts including assessment of needs, design of new reports, testing and roll-out.
    Client Relationship Management – 15%
    Lead day-to-day client management supports;
    Complete other tasks and projects related to the job, as needed.

    At least six years of experience managing grants and nonprofit finances;
    Nonprofit funding and federal grant management experience, strongly preferred;
    Knowledgeable on various aspects of federal grant regulatory compliance requirements;
    Proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets, and data management systems;
    Supervisory experience and/or experience leading teams or projects required;
    Strong project management skills;
    Knowledge of nonprofit management best practices;
    Experience handling confidential information;
    Demonstrated ability to multi-task, react and think quickly, and adjust to changing priorities;
    Ability to build effective professional relationships with stakeholders including staff and external partners;
    Ability to support and maintain a culture of high operational and customer service standards;
    Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite; Salesforce (CRM), ADP, ERP, expense reporting experience a plus);
    Implementation of new financial/reporting systems a plus;
    Must be committed to the work of social and economic justice organizations.
    Communication – The ability to effectively exchange ideas, concepts, facts, and data with diverse audiences.
    Relationship management – The ability to develop and nurture positive, productive relationships with others.
    Technologically and organizationally functional – Computer skills and demonstrates willingness to learn additional, specific platforms. Also understands and follows the policies and procedures applicable to all staff.

    Work will be performed between our office located at the NonProfit Center at 89 South Street, Suite 700, Boston, MA 02111 and your home office


    Schedule :
    This position is full-time at 37.5 hours per week and hours are flexible within reason.


    Compensation:

    The salary for this position is $118,275, paid bi-weekly at $4,549.Generous Paid-Time-Off (PTO): twelve paid holidays, three weeks of vacation, one week of personal holiday, and ability to accrue up to 487.5 hours of health leave time for benefited staff.
