Description
Have you always wanted to know what a microtechnologist does?

They manufacture microsystems, also known as MEMS (microelectromechanical systems), which are tiny components with sizes in the lower micrometer range (μm). For comparison: An average human hair has a diameter of 0.07 millimeters, which is 70 micrometers. In contrast, the limit of visibility with the human eye is about 40 micrometers.

Because the components are so small that even the tiniest (dust) particles could destroy multiple systems, they are produced in specialized cleanrooms with a controlled temperature and particle-free environment. Precision and cleanliness are therefore key parameters.

But how do you manufacture something so small? We'll show you

A variety of innovative MEMS can be found in the automotive industry, medical technology, as well as the chemical and telecommunications industries.

microfab is an independent service provider in the field of silicon-based microsystem technology and a global supplier for the production of custom microsystems. Our production lines in three cleanrooms are equipped with state
