- Create and run database queries to update delivery information and provide customer reporting
- Update and maintain existing programs to support optimization of delivery and customer support process
- Automate existing manual data-entry processes
- Support the mechanical technology in our delivery trucks including configuration, triage and support of handheld scanning devices, metering devices, communication and network devices, and supporting infrastructure
- Identify and troubleshoot software bugs and work with developers on fixes to be loaded on the device.
- Be available to answer phone calls from users late at night when necessary
- Open and monitor incidents, including error messages + API Support, with 3rd party providers
- Provide training to clients in usage and maintenance of devices including initial equipment setup, device diagnostics and support, and performing routine administrative tasks
- Provisioning – Configuration of the devices enabling and disabling features
- Application and non-application software installation, update, and management
- Taking full ownership of assigned tasks and keeping customers well-informed about the progress
- Travel to multiple company or customer sites throughout the year
- Provide remote and on-site support of handheld technology
- Handle all levels of support with Ability to collaborate and communicate technical issues to truck drivers with minimal technical knowledge
- Self-starter with the self-discipline to schedule and complete tasks without direct supervision
- Understanding of development best practices and sprint cycles
- Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics or a related field
- Deep understanding of IT fundamentals
- Understanding of relational databases and database management
- Critical reasoning skills and ability to listen and acquire critical information
- Excellent communication skills including proficiency in verbal and written English
- Willing to travel overnight and work weekends when necessary
- Data and analytics experience on any platform
- Ability to quickly grasp and adopt new technologies
- Provide API support and technical issue resolution via multiple support channels,
- Previous work with mobile devices, where memory and storage space may be limited on bandwidth or communication, such as in wireless connectivity is a plus
- Experience with the installation of Mid:com and LCR registers is a plus
- Ability to multi-task, attention to detail, and strong motivational skills
- Windows architecture, Control Panel and System settings
- SQL Querying (TSQL preferred)
- SQL Management Studio
- Any object-oriented programming language (previous programs to maintain will be in Python)
- Able to understand and troubleshoot system/API/applications flows
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)

General description
This position is ideal for a hands-on, outgoing individual who desires to be involved in various aspects of the IT field (database management, service desk, hardware install, software install/testing). The position requires strong resource and time management skills. Qualified candidates will present a friendly and professional demeanor to customers and colleagues.
This person will work with a software development engineering team and will participate in designing, integrating, testing, and deploying software application programs.
