Duties:


  • Assist physicians in the conduct and administration of physical examinations.
  • Prepare examination rooms and setsup equipment and supplies.
  • Answer inquiries and provide information concerning procedures and requirements.
  • Review medical history forms for completeness and accuracy.
  • Take and record height, weight, blood pressure, and pulse
  • Maintain examination records.
  • Clean and maintain clinic equipment and instruments.

Conditions of Employment:


  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 1 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which obtaining vital signs; updating, reviewing or maintaining medical records; and assisting a physician in the examination or treatment of patients in an Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education:

Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.

Combination of Education and Experience:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
