Psychology Technician - Houston, United States - US Military Treatment Facilities under DHA
Description
Duties:
- Assist in screening, testing, and psychodiagnostic evaluation for patients with a variety of problems.
- Recommend treatment and/or referrals to other specialists.
- Prepare written reports that integrate the patient's psychosocial history and test data.
- Conduct screening and intake assessments with patients.
- Formulate psychological evaluation based on interpretation of assessment and study findings.
- Provide training in the administration and scoring of psychological test instruments.

Conditions of Employment:
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting intake assessments, administering psychological testing, and managing testing supplies and equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

Education: Two years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Psychology.
- OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.

- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
