    This announcement is for a full-time, permanent, Health Services Consultant 3 position (HSC3).

    Position Overview:


    As the Behavioral Health Coordinator (HSC3) in the Adolescent Health Unit, you will play a critical role in the expansion and enhancement of our School Based Health Center (SBHC) programs.

    This position involves extensive coordination with internal and external partners and community partners to implement legislation focused on integrating behavioral health services in schools effectively.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Legislative Implementation: Ensure the successful rollout of behavioral health initiatives within the school system as per legislative requirements.
    • Partner Collaboration: Build and maintain partnerships with educational service districts, healthcare providers, and community organizations to support and enhance school-based health centers (SBHCs).
    • Project Management: Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets, to ensure project deliverables are met.
    • Communication Leadership: Serve as the primary contact for behavioral health-related topics across SBHC and school-based health care, facilitating effective communication between involved parties.

    Oversee the financial aspects of the behavioral health programs, including budgeting, funding allocations, and contract management to ensure fiscal compliance and efficiency.


    Work Location:


    This position is based in Tumwater, WA, and offers a flexible/hybrid work arrangement with the option to tele-work or utilize our modern drop-in workstations, while enjoying the occasional in-person collaboration opportunities.

    Our Ideal Candidate

    The ideal candidate has dynamic project management skills and thrives in collaborative environments. They are adept at leading initiatives that require navigating complex systems and processes and using quality improvement tools effectively. They possess a deep understanding of the social determinants of health and their impact on adolescent well-being.

    Required Qualifications

    Required Qualifications are the minimum requirements for eligibility for this position. The experience described below could have been gained concurrently
    ANDthrough paid or unpaid activities.


    • Five (5) years of experience managing projects across various settings involving collaboration between multiple diverse partners such as different groups or organizations which may include local government, schools, healthcare providers, community organizations or nonprofits.

    AND

    • Five (5) years of experience leading, managing, or coordinating initiatives focused on adolescent health including working in community development, youth development, community mobilization, or community systems planning. This experience may have been gained through public initiatives, school programs, or community outreach efforts.

    Desired Qualifications:
    Desired Qualifications are not required for eligibility but are helpful to have. The experience described below could have been gained concurrently
    ANDthrough paid or unpaid activities.


    • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Science, Community Development or related field.
    • Two (2) years of experience engaging with Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) related to adolescent behavioral health, this may include experience working on projects or policies that evaluate how environmental, economic, and educational factors impact the emotional and behavioral health in adolescents and young adults or experience that demonstrates an understanding of adolescent social determinants of health.
    • Experience working with maternal and child health populations, particularly children and adolescents.
    • Experience working with comprehensive children and adolescent health care.
    • Experience working with diverse community partners; demonstrated success achieving project goals with culturally relevant approaches.

    Conditions of Employment and Working Conditions
