Summary of Job Duties

:The Director is responsible for managing construction projects and studies by directing the Planning, Design & Construction team. This work begins with an initial project concept and scope, and continues through planning, design, construction, and project close-out for all construction and remodel projects at UAMS. The Director provides leadership and guidance during all phases of project development and construction. This position reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Campus Operations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field plus eight (8) years of experience in the design and construction field, including five (5) years of related healthcare industry experience OR a High School diploma/GED plus twelve (12) years of experience in the design and construction field, including five (5) years of related healthcare industry experience.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Familiar with technical and contractual issues.

Knowledge of health care organization and operations of a healthcare facility.

Knowledge of regulatory standards such as AIA guidelines, Department of health Regulations; and The Joint Commission and Life Safety Code.

Exercises sound judgement and exhibits excellent problem solving skills.

Strong time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

Certified Healthcare Construction (CHC).
