- Investigate, research, enforce and process complaints regarding the above ordinances and codes.
- Determine legal descriptions and property owners from county records.
- Maintain complaint records and input data into the computer tracking system.
- Utilize contractors for abatement of violations.
- Prepare and testify on cases for hearing before the Special Magistrate.
- Compile case information for public records requests.
- Recover illegal signs from the rights-of-way.
- Participate in cross training sessions with co-workers to address the comprehensive list of codes.
- Participate in FACE and other internal and external training as required.
- Works with citizens, civic associations, and homeowner's associations to maintain a clean healthful and aesthetically pleasing community:
- Distributes educational materials.
- Participates in monthly Community Cleanup Events.
- Attend Homeowner Association meetings.
- Regular work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Work rotational Saturdays or Sundays, overtime, early morning, late evening inspections, and Saturday Community Clean Up.
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Three (3) years of field enforcement experience involving interpreting, documenting, reporting, and/or correcting violations of regulatory codes or ordinances.
- -OR- An associate degree and one year of of field enforcement experience involving interpreting, documenting, reporting, and/or correcting violations of regulatory codes or ordinances.
- Valid Florida Drivers' License is required at time of hire.
- Must obtain FACE (Florida Association of Code Enforcement) certification (one level) within one year of employment.
- FACE certification.
- Sound level meter readings and light meter reading experience.
