Trust OfficerJ. Gaudet Associates, Inc. is working with HM Payson to manage its search for a Trust Officer.
About the Role
HM Payson trust officers administer trusts in accordance with trust documents, ensuring compliance and accurate record-keeping. They serve as an advisor for trust planning activities, interpreting trust documents, and ensuring compliance with applicable state laws.
The trust officers also interact with external auditors, develop referral sources, and act as a liaison between beneficiaries and other professionals.
ResponsibilitiesAdministers a portfolio of trust accounts.
Review trust documents and ensure that all trusts are administered in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Provide exceptional client service, responding promptly and professionally to client inquiries and concerns.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, attorneys, and other professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Develop and implement trust strategies that align with the client's financial goals and objectives.
Provide guidance to clients on estate planning, tax planning, and other financial planning matters.
Prepare trust account reports and provide regular updates to clients.
Participate in business development activities, including networking and marketing efforts.
Keep abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes and provide guidance to clients accordingly.
Experience
Minimum of five years of experience in trust administration or related field.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience required.
Graduate degree and/or law degree preferred.
Certification such as CFP or CTFA preferred.
Strong knowledge of trust laws, regulations, and fiduciary responsibilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and professionals.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other software tools used in trust administration.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all aspects of the job.
