Our programs for students, adults and community members include education, employment training, transition services, residential care, therapeutic and recreational services.

The Director of Residential Services provides oversight of all aspects of the Residential Department operations, including (but not limited to) residential student programming, managing and supervising personnel, promoting quality assurance, and developing new program models.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develops and implements a residential programming that best meets the needs of the students served by Cardinal Cushing School.

Manages the daily operation of the Residential Department including the supervision of staff, development of programming, and ensuring the health and safety of the students Promotes intra
- and inter -departmental cooperation and teamwork Communicates positively and effectively with all external constituents including: Parents, Families, Guardians, Advocates, Department of Children and Families Social Workers, Special Education Directors and Out-of

District Liaisons, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Department of Early Education and Care, and Department of Developmental Services.

Manages the budget of the residential department Reviews and revises Residential Department Policies and Procedures annually or as needed Ensures compliance with all licensing and regulatory agencies including: Department of Early Education and Care, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and the Department of Children and Families, and other funding/licensing agencies as needed.

Completes Performance Evaluation for all direct reports within the residential department, the Director of Nursing and the Director of Recreation.

Supports New Program Development Initiatives. Responsible for ensuring staffing with the required staff/student ratio.

Supports residential quality improvement by reviewing the condition of residential units on a regular basis to ensure proper upkeep and safety of units and identifies maintenance needs.

Facilitates regular meetings with Residential administrative, supervisory, and management staff. Participates in internal investigations at the direction of the Vice President/Student Programs and Services.

Serves as a member of the Board of Admissions Serves as the Administrator-On-Call on a rotational schedule Acts as liaison to the Parent Advisory Council and attends meetings as requested.

Attends student-related meetings as necessary Attends Department Head meetings to allow for communication among all departments Intervenes physically in behaviorally aggressive situations using DEEC approved techniques.

Ensures development and updating of curricula for students within the Residential Department Serves as a back-up to the Vice President/Student Programs and Services.

Keeps the President/CEO informed of critical incidents/information in the absence of the Vice President. Supports and upholds the Mission and Values of Cardinal Cushing Centers, Inc.
