Job Summary/Basic Function
**About This Role: - The _Clinical Instructor _position is a 9-month faculty position with a focus on clinical education of first
- and second-year MS-SLP graduate students.
Responsibilities for this position center on the clinical education of Master's of Speech Language Pathology, which includes:
curriculum design; provision of classroom and clinical instruction of students; advising undergraduate and graduate students; and participating in Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences clinical activity and service governance activities.
There are opportunities for contributing to research and scholarship as well as engaging in community and professional service associated with area of expertise.
There are opportunities for promotion to clinical associate professor.-
What You'll Do
- Position Responsibilities
Primary Responsibility
Clinical Supervision and Education including:
- Provision of clinical supervision at the Speech and Hearing Sciences at Lamar University.
- Development of innovative strategies and methods for clinical education.
- Development of curriculum and policies related to clinical education.
- Development of specialty clinics to provide experiential learning for students as a part of the degree program.
- Potential for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Mentoring and advising undergraduate and graduate students' academic and professional development.
- Collaborating in clinical research with other faculty.
- Providing clinical services at the Speech and Hearing Sciences at Lamar University.

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Texas.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.
- Minimum of three years clinical practice experience.
- Minimum of one year experience providing clinical supervision.
- Completion of a minimum of 2 hours of ASHAapproved professional development/continuing education in clinical instruction/supervision.
- Knowledge of MS SLP licensure and supervision regulations and accreditation standards relating to knowledge and skills acquisition for MS SLP students.
